Express Demands™

What is the purpose of the Express Demands product?
Express Demands transforms raw case files into a polished, high-quality demand package in minutes. These are optimized for motor vehicle accident, premises liability, and dog bite cases with a single plaintiff. Cases with higher page counts will require more review. Express Demands enables EvenUp customers to generate a comprehensive first draft of a demand within minutes. With built-in AI tools for reviewing and editing, users can seamlessly refine Express Demands as needed with AI purpose-built for personal injury.
How do I request an Express Demand?
Please first create a Case from your Case List page. On the Case Overview page for your new case, upload all the files you would like in your Express Demand. Once the files have been uploaded, click “+ Request.”
How do I review and edit my document?
Once you submit the Express Demand, you will be brought back to the Case Overview page. The Case Overview will show that an Express Demand is “In Progress”. Within minutes, the status will update to “Complete” and show a link to “View Draft”. Click “View Draft” to review and edit your document directly in the Document Editor within the platform’s Workstation. You will also receive an email as soon as your Express Demand is ready for you. Please note that to avoid any work getting lost, only one user should be making edits in the Workstation at a time.
What are Smart Citations?
To accelerate review time, Express Demands generates Smart Citations for key citations throughout the document. You can click on the highlighted text to pull up the supporting files and view them side by side. The files will open to the exact page with the exact line of the Smart Citation’s source, with a line-level highlight to help you identify the exact source on the page.
How do I utilize the AI Edits feature?
In editing mode, highlight the text you’d like to edit and a toolbar will appear with four options:
  • Write any Prompt: Freeform description of edits you’d like to make.
  • Polish: Refine text for clarity and brevity with correct grammar and spelling.
  • Advocate: Make this text more aggressive, but still professional.
  • Elaborate: Add in additional context.
How does Case Companion integrate with Express Demands?
You can ask Case Companion any question about your case in the Express Demands Workstation. Please note Case Companion will open in another window, and may take up to a minute to generate an answer. Case Companion will also provide citations so you can directly access the relevant page and line-level source within your case documents.
What does the Exhibit Management feature do?
The Exhibit Management feature uses AI to organize and name all of your case files based on document type, provider, and record type. Users can drag and drop files across exhibits to extract and combine. You can also manually exclude, rename, and re-order exhibits. Please note only PDFs are supported at this time.
What is the Version History feature?
Express Demands automatically saves versions of all edits you make to your drafts–including manual edits, AI edits, and exhibit actions. All past versions can be accessed within the “Version History” menu, and are categorized by Manual Edits, AI Edits, or Exhibit Actions to help you differentiate. Click “Restore” to revert back to a previous version.
How do I generate and download my Express Demands package?
Once you’re ready to generate and download your Express Demands package, click “Download” in the upper right corner. Please note it might take a couple of minutes to download.
  • Click the arrow button next to “Download” to open the menu of all past versions that have been downloaded. Once the latest package is ready to download, it will appear on this list.
Can I add my firm letterhead to Express Demands?
Yes, we currently support the addition of one firm letterhead in Express Demands. (Please note multiple letterheads are supported in Expert Docs, and EvenUp is working on expanding this for Express Demands as well.) While you won’t see the letterhead inside Workstation, it will appear when you download the Demand. If you encounter any issues with the letterhead or need to upload a new one, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Onboarding Specialist.
What happens to my citations when I download an Express Demand?
Citations are not downloaded in tandem with your Express Demands. Citations only live within the EvenUp portal.
How much can I edit the template before drafting an Express Demand?
Before onboarding EvenUp’s Express Demands product, you’ll complete a survey where you can specify your preferred language and which sections you want included in your demands. EvenUp will then build a custom template based on your instructions.

If you wish to modify the template later, please connect with your CSM or Onboarding Specialist. Typically, aspects such as introduction language, conclusory language, time to respond to the demand, and information to include/preclude are fully customizable across your cases.
What kinds of Future Medical Expenses are included?
For now, Future Medical Expenses only include future treatment only when this information is explicitly detailed within the provided medical records. We will not project future treatment if not explicitly stated.
Do customers need to review Future Medical Expenses?
Yes – there is always a risk that AI will make errors. Quality may decrease at higher page counts, so customers should expect to review more for cases with higher page counts.
Can FMEs be generated in table format instead of list format?
Currently, we can only generate the FME section in bullet format. In the future, we will be able to support table formatting.
